In an era where the climate change crisis is intensifying and causing widespread global impacts, all sectors must accelerate the transition toward achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (Net Zero Emission). This effort aims to strike a balance between economic development and sustainable environmental preservation.<\/span><\/p>

Thailand has not missed this crucial global transition. The country has made a clear commitment on the international stage to achieve Net Zero by 2065, joining the global effort to address climate change in a concrete way. To support this goal, <\/span>the government has been actively promoting environmental laws and measures, such as the Climate Change Act and the Carbon Tax, to establish a regulatory framework and encourage all sectors to transition toward a green economy.<\/span><\/p>

At the same time, the private sector has become increasingly proactive, driven by both domestic pressures and international measures such as the European Union\u2019s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).<\/span> This regulation has prompted many organizations to set their own Net Zero targets and accelerate investments in various carbon reduction initiatives.<\/span><\/p>

The result has been<\/em><\/strong> the rapid growth of the green finance market, which plays a crucial role in supporting environmentally friendly investments and serves as a key driving force for the transition toward a low-carbon economy at both national and global levels.<\/span><\/p>

Guidelines for Reducing<\/b>Carbon Footprint for Organizations<\/b><\/h2>

Businesses are high-potential actors for reducing carbon footprints on a broad scale, as they have the resources, systems, and opportunities to implement systemic changes. The following approaches can be taken to get started:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

1.Measure Before Reducing: Assessing the organization\u2019s carbon footprint.\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>

Before reducing the carbon footprint, it is essential to know the baseline emissions. For businesses, this should start with measuring the organization\u2019s carbon footprint using international standards such as the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, or local standards like Thailand\u2019s TGO (Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization).\u00a0<\/span>Assessing the carbon footprint helps identify GHG emissions across the organization\u2019s activities. Additionally, many organizations set science-based targets through the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) to ensure their reduction goals align with global scientific benchmarks.<\/span><\/p>
