This visa is commonly referred to as a “Business Visa” and is a category of Non-Immigrant Visa 

Types of Non-Immigrant Visas in Thailand 

They are categorized based on the purpose of entry into Thailand as follows: 

1.Type B (Non-B Visa) – Business Visa: For individuals who wish to work or conduct business in Thailand.

• Purpose of Non-B Visa : for Work and Business

• Details:

• Non-B for Work: For foreigners who have a Thai employer and wish to work legally in Thailand.
• Non-B for Business: For entrepreneurs, investors, or business owners who enter Thailand to conduct business activities.

2.Type B-A (Non-B Visa – A): For individuals who wish to invest in a company in Thailand.

Details: : This type of visa is issued to foreigners planning to work in Thailand, particularly those employed in joint ventures with the Thai government or in government-affiliated organizations. It is designed to facilitate work in government-supported entities and is generally issued to individuals working in positions related to government operations or public sector projects.

3.Type D: For individuals working at foreign embassies or diplomatic missions in Thailand.

Details: : This visa is issued to individuals working at foreign embassies or international organizations of countries not based in Thailand, but with diplomatic missions or representations in Thailand. Examples include those employed at foreign embassies in Thailand or international organizations such as the United Nations or other entities operating within Thailand.

4.Type ED: For individuals who wish to pursue education in Thailand.

• Purpose of Non-BVisa : for education

• Details : For individuals who wish to study in Thailand, such as students learning Thai language or other programs. This visa applies to schools, universities, or specialized courses.

5.Type EX: For individuals working in Thailand using specialized skills and expertise in their profession or business.

Details: : This visa is issued to individuals with specialized skills or expertise in fields needed by Thailand, such as technology, engineering, or business development. It allows them to work in Thailand to support economic growth and business development, typically in key positions requiring specialized knowledge.

6.Type F: For individuals working with Thai government agencies. 

• Purpose of Non-BVisa : For visiting or meeting with key individuals associated with Thai government agencies. 

• Details : It is used for visiting or contacting individuals at levels associated with the government or important organizations.

7.Type IB: For individuals entering Thailand to make investments.

This is a temporary visa for foreigners working on investment projects under the supervision of the Board of Investment (BOI). The projects must: Promote exports , Generate employment , Facilitate technology transfer to Thai people , Be involved in provincial or regional development It allows foreign investors to legally stay and work in Thailand while contributing to projects that benefit the country.

8.Type M: For media representatives.

• Purpose of Non-BVisa : For individuals working in media or mass communication.

• Details : For individuals working in journalism or media, such as reporters, writers, or media producers.

9.Type O-A: For individuals who wish to retire in Thailand.

• Purpose of the Visa: Purpose: To enter Thailand for living as a senior/retiree.
• Details: Requirements: The applicant must be at least 50 years old, specify that the purpose is to live in Thailand as a retiree, and will not work during their stay. They must provide financial proof or evidence of pension income.

 เจาะลึกวีซ่า ขั้นตอนการยื่นขอ Visa Non B สามารถทำได้โดยวิธีใดบ้าง 

การยื่นขอเอกสารวีซ่ามีความแตกต่างกันออกไปตามลักษณะของวีซ่า วัตถุประสงค์ ซึ่งเเบ่งได้ตามลักษณะการใช้งาน ดังนี้ 

• Visa Non B แบบเข้าประเทศไทยได้ครั้งเดียว (Single Entry) : โดยวีซ่า Non b ประเภทนี้ จะอนุญาตให้พำนักในไทยไม่เกิน 90 วัน (3 เดือน)
• Visa Non B แบบเข้าประเทศไทยได้หลายครั้ง (Multiple Entry) : โดยวีซ่า Non b ประเภทนี้ อนุญาตให้ชาวต่างชาติพำนัก และ ทำงานในไทยเป็นระยะเวลา 1 ปี (ซึ่งวีซ่าประเภทนี้เป็นแบบ Renewable )

In summary, วีธีการและขั้นตอนที่ชาวต่างชาติส่วนใหญ่ใช้ในการทำวีซ่า Non b เพื่อทำงานในประเทศไทยในระยะเวลานานเป็นปีได้นั้น มักจะเริ่มจากการการยื่นเรื่องของวีซ่า Non b ประเภทเข้าไทยได้ครั้งเดียว กับทางสถานทูตประเทศไทยในประเทศผู้ยื่นขอ เมื่อทำการยื่นเรื่องขอสำเร็จ จากนั้นจึงเดินทางเข้ามายังประเทศไทย และภายในระยะเวลา 90 วันก่อนที่วีซ่าจะหมดอายุ จากนั้นจะทำงานแล้วให้ทางบริษัทดำเนินเรื่องขอใบอนุญาตการทำงาน (Work Permit) ให้ จากนั้นจึงจะขอยื่นวีซ่า Non b ประเภทเข้าไทยหลายครั้ง (Multipil Entry) ซึ่งจะมีอายุ 1 ปี และ สามารถต่ออายุได้ในทุก ๆ ปี ในกรณีที่ยังทำงานในประเทศไทยอยู่นั่นเอง
